On 7th July 2023, #ABUdigital returned to the fully in-person event for the first time since 2019. Presented in an engaging TED Talk style format ABU’s premier digital show featured speakers from member and partner organizations in Australia, China, Hong Kong-China, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and Vietnam.
Experienced digital media professionals addressed challenges and shared experiences related to diverse subjects including technology implementation, creative content ideas, and enhancing user experiences. Topics ranging from data to cloud computing and platforms, from virtual reality to artificial intelligence and social media were explored through a series of thought-provoking keynotes.
#ABUdigital also showcased past ABU Prizes winners in the Digital Content Award category from KBS, Korea and VOV, Vietnam. Producers talked in-depth about their award-winning entries and gave their perspectives on how to create outstanding digital media content. #ABUdigital also served as a platform to demonstrate the groundbreaking use of sign language automation by NHK, Japan and AI in the newsroom by Mediacorp, Singapore.
Audience members highlighted the knowledge and skill-sharing opportunities during the #ABUdigital. An eventful day wrapped with ‘a linear approach to non-linear’ masterclass by an experienced facilitator from AFTRS, Australia. More than 80 media professionals from a dozen of countries joined #ABUdigital this year.
